A Weekend in the Country -- Day 48 and 49

We got up bright and early for our drive with Izzy 2 and Tucker up to the Catskills. It was one jam packed weekend trip.

Izzy hiked, and swam and ran around like a wild dog. She saw some bears, a couple deer and even a few newts and frogs

Both days, I gave her a little extra food because she was one busy dog. She only got a couple chicken treats which she shared with Jack and Izzy 2. And she drank a ton of water: water from the bowl, lake water, stream water and some puddles.

She was so tired when we got back on Sunday night. She was in exactly the same spot Monday morning as she was Sunday when we got back from our walk.

Getting Ready to Go on a Trip -- Day 47

Izzy does not poop for her dog walker, erin. She is a very private girl (well, was, with this blog and everything....). Anyhow Lisa and Mr. Smith were kind enough to walk Izzy in the evening so I could work on my pottery. Izzy gifted lisa with one of her barely smelly, nice and firm, rather small poops. It is a sign of her love!

GooGoo Eyes Are Powerful-- Day 46

We got up extra early to meet Michelle this morning. I had to get into work for a meeting, so we headed out at a little after 6. It was gloomy out and we were both dragging. But once we got there Izzy is happy to see all the other dogs and Michelle, of course.

Could Izzy use the googoo eyes more?!! She practically sticks her head in Michelle's bag to get treats. Michelle had to give me one to lead her out of the park with. Otherwise, she was going to stay with her and Ben. I never thought I would see the day that Izzy would abandon me for someone else. At least it is someone who makes amazing dog food!

We took a walk tonight to the ATM. She loves to go there and bask in the AC.

Sweet Lil Bear -- Day 45

Izzy did not want to get up this morning. She lazed around while I got her food ready and got dressed. When I grabbed my bag and her toy, she rushed over to eat her food. And she would not leave until it was done.

It is getting warmer. Just a few degrees but the humidity is increasing. We have to follow the shade home, the sun is just too warm at 8 am for the lil bear.

I had class tonight, so Lisa came over and took Izzy out in the evening. Erin, her dog walker, has been feeding Izzy her dinner. So when I got home, Izzy was all chill and happy. We had our rub down time, where I sit on the floor and scratch her all over. And then we went to bed.

Izzy is not pooing in the evening again. We are back to one a day - and it is virtually stink free. Life is good.

Mesmerizing Lamb Lung -- Day 44

Food (chicken), walk, park. Izzy took off after a squirrel today. Running with the other squirrel chasers! Reminded me of when she was younger and chased rabbits and squirrels all the time. It is amazing how young she is acting these days.

I got home a little late this night, and while eating dinner, gave Izzy a couple pieces of lamb lung (small ones). And put the bag down on the sofa. Now Izzy does not get up on the furniture. This is by her choice, not mine. But she sat and stared at the bag like she had the power to make it move and open for her. It was funny how intent she was on that bag. And it gave me 5 minutes to relax before we had to play and play again...

Dawdling thru the Park -- Day 43

Izzy seems very content with her chicken for breakfast her chicken for dinner, her chicken treats, and the scooter treats she follows Michelle around for like an addict. I think she practices all her cutest looks on Michelle for those treats.

We have moved into that stage of summer where Izzy does not want to leave the park. She will dawdle, pretend not to hear me, walk super slow, anything to stay in the park just a little bit longer. And if Michelle is there Izzy will seem to forget that I exist. This change in her diet is not making me feel loved! :( That is until I get home from work and she wants my full attention to play play play until bed. We took a long walk tonight to see if she would settle down. I will have to keep that up until it gets too warm for her.

Fur in July -- Day 42

Boy, do Izzy and I have a routine.

Get up, get out of bed. Breakfast, and a walk to the park.

It is warm out today, but we decided to venture to the AfroPunk street festival anyway. It was crowded and lots of scary skateboards. So we ended up at the margarita place. It was so warm, on the way back on the street between 2 warehouses, we had to stop in the shade and enjoy the breeze (and eat some grass growing in the cracks of the sidewalk).

She got a chicken breast for dinner with a much smaller quantity of ScooterFood. She has been chillaxing in the AC since. Life is hard in July when you wear a fur coat.
