A Weekend in Baltimore -- Day 27

Our first weekend traveling with ScooterFood.

I prepared with frozen containers of a weekend's amount of food, ice packs and my insulated bag. It worked perfectly! But did require forethought.

The weekend trip was to Baltimore to see the fam and some grooming. I dropped Izzy at the groomers on the way into Baltimore and went to the salon myself. Note the shiney coat in the photos.

Izzy ate beefheart (cutting back a little), for both breakfast and dinner. I think she is hungry sometimes. Izzy is not normally a begger but over the weekend she definitely tried to hit me and my dad for food. She did not go after my parent's dog, Elmo's food. But he is food possessive.

TGIF Day 26

Yay Friday! And beef hearts! I had to get to work early, but we still made it to the park. No short changin the Izzy on her walks.

This was a quiet day. She was feisty when I got home, but Erin had already fed her. No poo yet today, but we still have our last walk to go.

Haircut tomorrow for Izzy!

Where's the Poop? Day 25

OK, so definitely noticed a major difference with Izzy. She used to be a 2 poo a day. Now, it is like 36 hours between.

On Thursdays I have class after work. Our friend Lisa is nice enough to take Izzy out in the evening. Apparently, she had a 2 bag poo, with little stink. ANd Lisa can tell you, it really used to stink.

Izzy had beef hearts for dinner, chicken for breakfast.

Due to the lack of weight loss, Izzy is not getting treats, and her walker, Erin, is feeding her dinner (so it is at 3-4pm insteade of 8-9M when I get home from work.) Erin is nice enough to warm it up for her, like she likes. This was our first day of early dinner. She does not seem pressed for anything when I get home, so that is a good thing. We take our last walk and go to bed.

Happy Birthday Izzy -- Day 24

Happy Birthday to Izzy! Izzy turns 7 today. My little girl is growing up.

How amazing that our friends gave Izzy birthday gifts at the dog park that morning! How lucky Izzy and I are to have such wonderful and thoughtful friends.

So needless to say, there was a little over-indulgence today! Izzy did get her regular ScooterFood for breakfast and dinner and just a few (understatement) extra treats.

Lamb lung
Doggie eclaire (don't tell Lisa but she buried a part in the sofa)
super yummy big rawhide

Not terrible, but...
Anyhow even with all those extras, no poo. It was Izzy's gift to me.

A Disappointing Weigh-In -- Day 23

So the moment of truth came on Sunday when I took Izzy to the vet and weighed her. It was quite a surprise. As much as we have seen the changes in her, the loose skin, the smaller belly, the increased energy; she has not lost a pound. She is still at 77 pounds.

So we had a talk with ScooterFood creator, Michelle, and will be making some changes that we will put in place after her birthday tomorrow. More to come on this.

She did eat her warmed up chicken for breakfast and dinner. She loves it warm. I do not know if it is the smell or the beep of the microwave that gets her up, but it works everytime.

A cool thing happened today -- her poop did not SMELL! It was small, firm and pretty much stink free! It is a miracle!

Alone Again Naturally -- Day 22

Well we are back to a single dog household. and I think she loves that she gets all my attention again! Me too1

It was chicken today. I heated it up both times and I think she really likes it that way. Otherwise she had a couple chicken treats, a little rawhide and we are about to head out for our night walk.

Day 21

Oh, the rain! could it please stop? We did not make it to the park because of the misty rain that was coming down.

But it did not stop Izzy from chowing on her chicken. She gobbled it up. I was worried that maybe her fast eating was because of Izzy 2's presence. But she left this afternoon, and Izzy still scarfed down her beef hearts for dinner. Today's picture is Izzy licking her lips as she atte. I thought it was too cute!

Anyhow, she is definitely pooping less. Almost once a day.
